Sean, founder of Solar With Sean

About Sean

A neighbor first. An advisor second. Never a salesman.

Born and raised in Leucadia, I spend my free time as a high-alpine backpacking enthusiast, glorified surf wanderer, powder-seeking snowboarder, and former pro scuba explorer. There's no place I'd rather work than San Diego. Helping homeowners make the switch to take advantage of the sun is something I've grown to love. I'm a detail-oriented guy, which translates well to this industry — there's a lot to know to make sure a system is properly sized for a home.

I started Solar With Sean after five years in the solar industry — and a lot of frustration with how homeowners were being treated. Too many high-pressure pitches. Too many one-size-fits-all proposals. Too many families left confused by jargon and fine print.

My approach is different on purpose. I sit down with you, listen to what your family actually needs, and walk through the tradeoffs honestly. Sometimes that means recommending a full solar + battery system. Sometimes it means telling you to wait. Either way, you'll leave the conversation knowing more than when we started.

How I work

Four things you can count on.

Neighbor first

Every conversation starts with your family, not a product catalog.

Independent advice

I'm not tied to one brand or purchasing path. The right system is the one that actually fits your home.

Calm, clear guidance

Plain-English explanations, written for humans — not engineers.

Built on referrals

Almost every new homeowner I meet was introduced by another I've worked with.

A note from Sean

"Your home is one of the biggest decisions you'll ever make. The energy choices inside it deserve the same care."

I live in Encinitas with my family. The same coast, the same fires, the same blackouts you experience — I think about them too. That's why I do this work the way I do: slowly, honestly, and with the long-term in mind.
